Right Here, Right Now

Just playing around---

The lovely Jamie Ridler asks today "what do you wish to enjoy?"
Boy oh boy, do the answers flow!
I'm always tempted to just jump in and start writing, based on that first impulse; however, I've found that if I wait, and ponder a bit, the real answer comes.
How do I know it's the real answer, you ask?
Simple; it's the one that is soul-satisfying.You know what I mean.

The real answer for today folks--- I wish to enjoy my here and now.
I have such an annoying habit of either fretting over the past, or alternately dreading what's coming or glossing over my present in hopes that the future will hold something better.

Even though I know down deep that enjoying my now determines that future, I have such trouble with getting bogged down in the yuck.
I'm catching on--- I'm constantly reading up (and writing) on the subject; heck, I'm even taking an online course from Ram Dass called, what else---Being Here Now.
And I'm finding that the more I focus on the now, and actually LIVE it, and hopefully ENJOY it, the better life gets, and the more joy I experience.

Ahhhh ...... Peace

Sweet Rose
by John William Waterhouse
One of my favorites of all time!

I had decided I would not post today upon seeing Jamie's Wishcasting Wednesday prompt.
What do I wish to
experience??
Come on!
The list is far too long!

As usual, upon further consideration
.... and I wonder if this is not Jamie's intention, to make us do more than pop off the first thing that comes to mind, realizing that there is more to the prompt...more to
US than that......
the answer came to mind----
I wish to experience PEACE.

If I can experience even a small few of the items on my list, I will experience peace.
I wish to experience health.
I wish to experience some semblance of financial security.
I wish to experience the joy of using my God-given gifts each day.

And I wish true peace for myself, my family, my friends, all of us.

Sharing JOY!

Fall at Tallulah Gorge in north Georgia...JOY!

Jamie Ridler asks today: What do you wish to share?
All week I've pondered the question posed last Wednesday--what luxury do you wish for?
My first thought then was the luxury of generosity, which led to the many ways that one can be generous without financial means, which led to the response to today's prompt, even before it was asked!

I can share JOY!
I can be just as generous as I want to be!
Joy doesn't have to cost a dime; true joy is not attached to any monetary expense or reward.
I have started taking note of those moments of pure joy in my days, and expressing gratitude for them.

I feel joy when
* my almost 13 year old climbs onto my lap, throws her arms around me and sighs "Mama, I love you"
*I smell fall in the air and see the leaves dancing in all their glorious colors
* my little nephew comes bounding into my house and asks "what art are you working on today Jennifer? Can I do that too?"
*I have my first nibble of 90% chocolate with peppermint tea when I sit down at my computer each morning
* I realize my 16 year old knows how to apologize
*someone tells me that my art makes them feel happy
*my husband snuggles in and tells me that I'm his best friend
*I understand...and this is one of my greatest joys....that my adult children were listening!
They actually listened and learned from what I've always tried to teach them. And they're good people! *wiping a happy tear*

How can one feel that kind of joy and not want to share it?!

What brings YOU joy today?

And what do you wish to share?
